Advanced Synthetic Research is an enterprise for growing high-quality single crystals of type IIa, IIb and IIa + Ib diamonds from 10 carats and above for industrial applications.

We employ a novel high-performance technology based on the HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) method, which is the "know-how" of the enterprise, providing high productivity at low cost due to the simultaneous growth of several crystals in a container in a multi-seed way.

This technology provides the synthesis of diamonds of the highest quality with specified characteristics that guarantee their highly efficient use in the production of technical products (matrices for growing crystals by the CVD method, substrates for electronics, plates for the manufacture of optical products of various ranges, including X-ray, as well as diamond anvils, products for medicine, cutting and drilling tools).

The production is based on powerful press equipment - 16 cubic mod presses. 950 (cast) and 1000 (forged). This equipment is modernized and equipped with modern hydraulic systems developed by process control systems (loading, heating, cooling, ventilation, air conditioning and uninterruptible power systems) and technologies for growing large and extra large crystals using the multi-seed method. The production is also planned to be based on equipment that will allow the enterprise to use modern technologies for predicting and cutting raw materials, laser cutting and processing of crystals, applying epitaxial and implanted layers.

 
EPI READY technology and CVD epitaxy
 

CVD - installations with the technology of applying various epitaxial layers (manufactured by IAP) will allow raising the quality and technical characteristics of the produced substrates to the next level. Thanks to this technology, we plan to apply N-type (boron doping) and P-type (phosphorus doping) epitaxial layers on our own wafers.

 
Diamond in electronics
 

Diamond is an attractive material for making various electronic devices. It is used for the manufacture of both passive devices (for example, heat sinks, sound ducts), and as a semiconductor material for active devices (high-frequency transistors, detectors).

Diamond is a radiation-resistant material, transparent in a wide spectrum range from UV to radio waves, has a record speed of sound propagation (18 km/s), low dielectric constant ε=5.7)

New prospects for the use of diamond in high-tech areas have emerged as a result of the development of CVD synthesis technology.

The main advantages of gas-phase synthesis of CVD diamond:
  • large sizes of plates;
  • high reproducibility of physical parameters due to easier control of growth conditions and purity of gases used;
  • the possibility of growing films;
  • the possibility of growing products of a given shape on profiled substrates (replica method), which makes it possible to reduce the cost of post-growth processing;
  • the possibility of local deposition of diamond layers and tracks on the surface of various materials.
